Christine Agaiby, Campaign Director of the CWCY is increasing public awareness of the problem of wrongful convictions of youth and assisting states in coordinating their legislative efforts towards reform of police interrogation techniques. Prior to joining the Clinic, Christine was Restorative Justice Manager, training over 60 Chicago Public High Schools in restorative justice practices and changing school board policies, removing zero tolerance language in the student code of conduct into a restorative one. Ms. Agaiby graduated from Marquette University Law School in 2005, co-facilitated peace circles in maximum security prison, and practiced as a Public Defender for Milwaukee County. She also volunteered as a Community Conferencing Facilitator out of the District Attorney's office where she facilitated a process in which the victim, offender and affected community members came together in a safe setting to discuss the facts and impacts of a particular crime, reaching an alternative to prison resolution.
